Pre-Requisites To Enable the Duplicate Management
As {Lapp} heavily rely on salesforce native duplicate management functionality before filtering dupes with own custom data algorithms, It requires the below rules on the salesforce instance.
- Matching Rules
- Duplicate Rules
if you don't have any matching or duplicate rules setup in your organization, Lapp will auto-create matching and duplicate rules in your instance.

Follow these steps below to configure the duplicate management.
1. Go to Application Menu > {Lapp} Configuration > Settings > Duplicate Management > Configure
**lapp will auto insert the Matching and Duplicate rules if they are not defined in your org.
2. When a duplicate is detected by lapp, either when the lead is created via the lapp API, or through regular data insertion channels, It will mark the lead as duplicate as below on lead.
